A shot to your health

Say hello to the future of praying-to-God-this-stuff-really-works: Sync Wellshots, a sextet of 2.5oz cherry/pomegranate-flavored boosters now on shelves at Whole Foods, each packing the antioxidant equivalent of five servings of fruits/veggies, plus a slew of other benefits thanks to "hero ingredients" -- a selection of additives they claim are so rigorously tested as to be scientifically unassailable (so "radioactive spider venom" probably didn't make the cut).

The vials were conceived by a Houstonian who'd admired the Japanese habit of popping small nutritional shots throughout the day, then sought to one-up the stateside equivalent (5-hour Energy) by tapping the doc who wrote the Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine -- and if he sells encyclopedias and supplements, you know you can trust him. The roster includes the jitters-free Energy/Focus (green tea-based caffeine and a natural form of a relaxing amino acid produced by the brain), Inner Calm (reduces stress w/o inducing sleep via the above amino acid, passion flower extract, and the milk compound lactium), and Sexual Vitality: a unisex tonic that features maca, an herb used by Inca warriors to increase stamina, as well as L-Arginine, an amino that aids in the dilation of erectile tissues, which would otherwise just crust up your trashcan.

Then there's Immunity, starring a compound they claim's undergone $250mil worth of research; Anti-Aging/Beauty, which cranks your anti-oxis and Vit-D via East Indian gooseberry; and Weight Management, which uses naturally occurring fats and elements of green tea to simulate satiation -- which hopefully works, or you'll be left praying to anyone holding a bag of Doritos.
