People say the key to business success is identifying and filling a knead, which makes zero sense, as you've started at least three dough companies that have gone under. Oh, it's "need"? Ok, that checks out, and applies better to this story about a restaurant giving Southie what it's been missing: Wolfie's Kitchen & Bar.
Eager to import downtown flavor into their gastronomically starved section of Southie, the husband/wife team behind nearby Sidewalk Cafe gutted the former Kelly's Landing, and morphed it into an 17-tabler slinging upscale American and warmed with a color palette of oranges, greens, and burnt reds, usually only visible in Southie after a scam artist leaves town. Burly nourishment includes a rack of baby back ribs (done sweet & spicy or guava-glazed); a lemon/ caper-buttered swordfish steak over tomato & asparagus risotto; and sweet potato fries-accompanied turkey tips, which apparently should have included "run faster". For ocean-friendly pecking, there're small bites like a pan-fried Maine crab cake w/ spicy pineapple salsa and pepper-crusted seared Ahi, plus meatier apps including lollipop chicken wings that're served Buffalo-style -- ironic, considering the Bills suck too much to serve anybody.
To wash it all down, they've got 20+ beers (Whale's Tale, Duvel, Allagash), an international lineup of vinos, and a handful of specialty cocktails like a sake/ St. Germain martini, and Wolfie's own raspberry vodka sangria, so at least they've identified what you totally need.
