Reunions can be so much more than just an excuse for Jason Biggs to jam his wang into various inanimate objects (a laptop??? what'll these guys think of next!!??), as Chi is about to discover with Red Door, opening in the former Duchamp space thanks to a chef-manager duo who first teamed up at Duchamp's predecessor, Meritage.
Aside from the newly painted red door (which means "welcome"... in America... apparently), the space's been rusticized with barnwood while maintaining the secluded, 100-seat patio, where the bonkers snackage starts off with confit chicken poutine w/ curry gravy, romesco-sauced, bacon-wrapped artichokes w/ chicken liver, and togarashi-spiced ramp tempura, also a super tasty new combo trick in Tony Hawk. From there hit between-breadness like lamb neck sloppy joes w/ pickled mushrooms and caramelized onions, or nab plates of duck confit French toast (w/ shaved foie & cherry compote), and pork rind 'n kimchi Korean-style spare ribs, though according the pig they came from, the idea they were "spare" is total bulgogi.
Their inventive attitude also seeps into the 'tails, which include a yuzu julep made with 12yr Japanese whiskey and shiso that's been muddled, though not as much as the plot devices that find Jason Bigg's jamming his wang into everything.
