Sometimes it's comforting to go back to your roots, while others it just makes watching Reading Rainbow super awkward. Going back to his to bring you a rainbow of flavor, the dude behind Yuzu.
Yuzu's from a well-traveled sushi chef (Kamahachi, Sushi Wabi) who got his start in San Fran manning a robata grill, and decided Chi was the place to return to tiny skewered meats amidst 130yr-old barnwood and massive murals of Japanese comics, who despite the language barrier STILL get plagiarized by Dane Cook. Grill items come one per order, facilitating the mixing-and-matching of goodness like 24hr-marinated pork shoulder w/ honey garlic sauce, sweet miso-glazed beef short ribs, and chicken wings lightly brushed with curry, about the only part of Eddy that's light these days...or ever. Keeping a foot in the sushi game are signature hand rolls including the South Beach (tuna, cucumber, and Japanese pepper amped w/ sesame oil & lime), the soft shell crab/roasted coconut/unagi Pier 99, and a riceless tempura-battered number with ahi, jalapeno, cream cheese, and avocado (w/ pepper yuzu sauce) dubbed My Midwest Favorite Small Roll, though it compensates for its small size by being awesome at eating Bento box.
The extensive drink list includes literally everything ever -- since it's BYOB -- which given the average markup, means the same amount of dough'll get you twice as high.
