Neighbors can be annoying and steal and stuff, so the folks from Telegraph Wine Bar decided to become their own by snapping up the former Ciao space and morphing it into Reno, a Stumptown coffee-serving cafe by day and casual wine bar by night featuring a stripped-down interior that reveals the building's original brick facade
They didn't change everything, though, particularly the pizza joint predecessor's wood-burning oven, which they're pressing into morning bagel-making duties, turning out a handful of varieties (sesame, olive 'n herb) to be shmeared with the likes of artichoke cream cheese or seasonal homemade nut butter, which is also delicious on inappropriate jokes
Bagels are also a bread option on sammies like the Cowboy Killer (maple-fennel sausage, fried egg, bechemel, rajas, bacon, and optional RGIII)
Come nighttime the oven moves back to 'zas like the Hog (covered in pork belly carnitas, cotija & salsa verde), or hit handmade pastas like double-creamed papardelle w/ Gorgonzola, braised greens and walnuts
Considering the proprietors, you better believe there's wine, with a tightly curated & priced ($6-7 a glass) list that's also available for take-home at a discounted rate, in case the folks at the neighboring table prove to be unbearably annoying and steal and stuff.
