Barrio Tacos & Tequila

Head south of the border (between Bloomfield and Birmingham, so basically Mexico) to hit up Barrio, which cools off the heat of the food via breezy, upscale digs with white brick walls & leather booths, sea blue ceilings, decorative lowriders, and a mariachi mural, though even without it there'd still be horn a-plenty. The $15 resto week lunch'll land you three courses, with starters including various guacs (pineapple & habanero, cumin-roasted butternut squash...) and a salad of navel orange, jalapeno, cabbage, jicama & cukes, plus larger plates comprising shredded chicken enchiladas w/ roasted tomatillo cream sauce and two kinds of tacos: mahi mahi w/ cabbage slaw & chipotle aioli, and brisket braised in a Zacatecas-style mole verde & topped with Chihuahua cheese, whose yapping you can silence with some of the bones you saved on lunch.
