Heroes in a whole shell

Offering the freshest kings London'll see 'til William ascends the throne and is summarily disgraced by a French magazine, is this weekend's Scallop Sunday: a Hackney feast presented by Maltby Street's Cornish Grill and Burnt Enz featuring 1.5k hand-dived scallops, all to be caught that morning in Dorset, then whisked to you in the quickest sea-to-plate time "the capital has ever seen".Kicking off around 2pm, the bivalves will be cooked into a half-dozen "extremely creative", under-wraps dishes (five of which are included in your ticket) by an equal number of young London chefs, including a Nopi veteran, Rick Stein's son Jack, and the head man at disco Bistro, whose oven must be an Inferno. Oh but that's not all: the evening will then see a BBQ involving 25 kilos of rare-breed pig cheek, helmed by a London chef who's "anonymous, but highly rated", as opposed to Anonymous chefs, who are just hacks. The whole op's BYOB, but you will get a welcome Negroni whipped up by local gin distillery Little Bird. Send an email here mentioning Thrillist when you book, and you'll get another comped drink on top of that one -- after that, try to monitor your intake, or you'll take off your clothes and everyone will see that you're Harry.
