Heston goes local

Finally opened in the Mandarin Oriental, Heston's sophomore resto offers diners uninterrupted Hyde Park views, low-lit modern furnishings, and an open kitchen serving historically inspired English gastro-wizardry like circa-1500 "Meat Fruit" (mandarin, chicken liver parfait & "grilled bread"), the 1720s' Beef Royal (72-hours slow-cooked short rib of Angus), and, from the 1390s, a saffron, calf tail & red wine dish known as "Rice and Flesh" -- also a movie naughty film critics roundly praised as providing "Shock and Raw".
