1. Mele e Pere 46 Brewer Street, London, W1F 9TF (Soho)

Now open in Soho, Mele e Pere (meaning "apples & pears") has the look of an art gallery up top, but head down the aforementioned fruits, and you'll find London's first vermouth bar: a cavernous space simply furnished with anglepoise lamps, serving dozens of bottles of the stuff (including a homemade number), as well as Northern Italian feastings like artichoke risotto w/ lamb neck, caserecce pasta w/ pork cheek, and rabbit w/ carrot, because why waste the bait?
