The South Bay's slick agave-porium

There is something enchanting about Mexico, be it the sandy beaches, the beautiful women, or just the evil brujos casting Chupacabra spells on anyone dumb enough to root against the Toluca Red Devils soccer team. For all the beauty (and none of the goat life-sucking issues), head to Palmilla Cocina & Tequila.

Opening tomorrow right by the beach in Hermosa, PC & T's an upscale tequileria w/ hand-tiled walls, circular chandeliers, and a firepit-clad patio, all from the guys behind Baja Sharkeez and Sandbar. Food's from a Wolfgang Puck vet, w/ farm-fresh Mexican vittles like nachos de marisco w/ shrimp, Dungeness crab, black beans & queso; short rib taquitos w/ chipotle braised beef; and grilled fish tacos w/ jalapeno cabbage, arroz de tomatillo & roasted garlic mojo, which's quite possibly the most oxymoronic ingredient ever. Other choice items include prawns pacifico sauteed in garlic, tomato, chile flakes, lime & tequila; chicken mole enchiladas w/ roasted lime pepitas; and a cilantro lime skirt steak w/ your choice of sides including honey lime-mashed sweet potatoes, and parilla corn pepper -- the favored baseball warm-up game of Ty Cobb.

'Cause tequila's literally their last name, they've also got, like, a bazillion varieties, as well as a bunch of Mexican beers and specialty cocktails including spicy mango margaritas, pineapple mojitos, and a cucumber/ jalapeno martini so enchanting, after two you won't even mind if someone gets your goat, and then sucks the life out of it.
