Pubbelly Boys + Scarpetta Chef = Delicious

They say the third time's the charm, but who cares about that, because the fourth time is apparently the Italian comfort food, and that's much easier to eat than charm. That's right, the Pubbelly dudes have Voltroned with Scarpetta's Chef Michael Pirolo to open their fourth spot, Macchialina: a rustic tavern exuding a homey vibe via wooden planked ceilings, exposed brick, and dim red lighting

Pirolo's menu includes only the most comforting of Italian eats, including a slew of shareables like veal cheek & pork meatballs, his own take on the Caesar salad that coats broccoli rabe in creamy parmigiano & toasted garlic, and polenta w/ cippolinis, sausage & sweetbreads, which's what Ashton Kutcher said in Dude, Where's My Car? when he saw some breads that were, admittedly, pretty nice

Make like Wu-Tang and keep feeding yourself, and feeding yourself with brick-oven pizzas, a slew of housemade pastas like braised short rib & taleggio-stuffed lasagna, and a pork shoulder that's been rubbed in rosemary... oh baby

Even the booze's staying authentic thanks to imported Italian vinos and blessedly non-Peroni brews (Innis & Gunn, Birrificio Le Baladin, La Chouffe), house-made Limoncello, and Aperol/ prosecco/ Campari-filled cocktails, the third of which will hopefully give you the charm.
