Not just the second sexiest holiday of the year for Amish people (after Candle Making), Harvest's also the name of the newest addition to the Magrogan empire (Kildare’s Irish Pub, Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House): a strictly seasonal, two-story barstaurant that's super focused on the whole farm-to-table-to-your-mouth deal, with more than 70 different farmers helping to stock the kitchen. The whole thing opens this Friday in U City, here's a peek:
The Eats: Food'll come from an exec chef with steakhouse pedigree (William Douglas, McCormick and Schmick's), and include culinary touches (gross!!) on traditional deliciousness like smoked cheddar turkey chili, cheesesteak flatbread pizzas, salmon BLTs (w/ chive aioli), and a BBQ
M. Bison Burger w/ applewood-smoked bacon, Hope Springs Farms cheddar, and crispy fried onions.
The Drinks: The bar's upstairs and loaded with 50+ wines, $12 six-beer flights, pints of seasonal releases from Victory, Flying Fish & Sly Fox, and -- if you want to spend the fruits of your labor on the fruits of the farmers' -- mixeds like apple sangrias and ciders, bourbon w/ muddled cranberries, and a vodka-spiked pumpkin latte -- a drink that's clearly not geared toward men...nonites.
