Food & Drink

Wine and comfort grub. Also cars, if you want them.

Clean, compact lines. Agile handling. A small trunk. These are just some of the things you won't possess after stuffing yourself at Vintana. From the resto group that brought you Blue Point, BO-Beau, and like 15 other spots, comes their most ambitious project yet: actually putting a restaurant in a car dealership. That's right -- Vintana is seated in the "penthouse at The Centre at Lexus Escondido", and features sweeping views of the rolling hills, a 10000sqft open-air terrace w/ fire pits, and the likelihood that you could walk away from your meal with a brand-new Lexus CT 200h hybrid in Matador Red Mica with a Caramel NuLuxe Trim interior.

In the meantime, park yourself close to the 17ft-high windows and sample small plates like langoustine sweet corn fritters w/ spiced maple & honey-bacon creme fraiche or pork belly w/ citrus marmalade & a black pepper drop biscuit that's "Southern-inspired", likely infuriating those who seek inspiration from Grambling.

If you like things full-size, they recommend making payments on a 2012 roasted shallot & blue cheese-stuffed filet burger w/ tomato peppered slab bacon, or the always reliable blackberry glazed bison spareribs w/ a bacon-pecan corn waffle.

And if you're planning on letting other people drive, they've got an extensive lineup of boutique wines, craft taps, and a Vodka Lounge offering over 100 styles from around the world -- any of which will help answer the smarmy question, "Alright, so what's it going to take to put you half in the bag today?".
