New York is a scary place to visit these days, what with their first hurricane in 90yrs following their first earthquake since WWII -- wait that was just a tropical storm and a 5.8 shiver? But Times Square's still pretty sketchy, right? What's that -- a Disney store? Bringing you NY-style vittles that'll have to settle for just being scary good, Gandolfo's NY Deli Truck.
No longer content to push sandwiches solely over the counter, the Oceanside deli's game is moving to a street corner near you via its brand-new monster of a food truck, stocked with a full industrial-grade kitchen and completely decked out in a NYC taxi theme, so expect the cashier to be talking on a cell phone to a strange country the whole time he's taking your order. For the early crowd they'll be slinging jazzed-up bagels like the Queens (roast beef, one egg, steak sauce), as well as less holey works like the bacon/ two eggs/ American cheese Polo Grounds on a Kaiser roll, and the Huevos Locos, which is sausage, two eggs, pepper jack, and salsa on a half hero...so who, Puck from Alpha Flight? And because surveys say that people like lunch, they're serving up specialty sandwiches like the ham/ salami/ pepperoni/ provolone Little Italy, the I Love New York with corned beef/ pastrami/ Swiss, and the self-titled Gandolfo with avocado, mayo, cheddar, and so much turkey YOU SHALL NOT PASS... it very easily.
So folks can get their Takeru Kobayashi on, the truck's serving up authentic quarter-pound Nathan's Famous dogs like the tomato, pickle, onion, relish, and spicy mustard-topped Second City, which NYC may have to construct if they're ravaged by any more kind-of-disasters.
