Hawaiian-style eats on Alki

They say the third time's the charm, so next season will totally be Dustin Ackley's breakout year. Just kidding, of course, that's never gonna work out, but it is working out just fine for the Marination crew, who're opening their third eats operation. Named after a Hawaiian phrase for “near the sea", MMK's serving an expanded menu of Asian-inspired eats in a heavily updated beachfront shack, which affords you a view that -- much like the thought of Dustin dealing with even a softly lined drive towards second base -- takes your breath away.

Items unique to MMK include a Hawaiian-style shaved ice for dessert, panko-crusted fish n’ chips, and a tangily sauced pork katsu, which is both a sandwich made with deep-fried meat, and good advice for any kitten that wants royalties from all those videos on YouTube. Other signature edibles that thankfully don't actually feature pen marks include morning eats (the hamburger/ white rice Loco Moco topped w/ Kalua gravy & a fried egg), and daytime options like shredded Kalua Pork.

Thirsty? You should probably opt for something from their beer lineup (chosen by Washington's first female cicerone), including a malt-forward brown brewed just for MMK by Big Al, a few of which might help Ackley perform better in the big A.L.
