Adams Morgan isn't exactly known for incredible food, as evidenced by how many people regret bringing things home from Spaghetti Garden. Seeking to change that: Bistro 18.
Nestled in AdMo's beating, jumbo slice-clogged heart, 18 plates modern American fare on white-clothed, rose-adorned tables surrounded by "fifty feet of art exhibits from local artists", and rocks a wood bar backed by five flatscreens they assert are perfect for sports enthusiasts or "news junkies", so don't be surprised to find Matt Lauer there! Doing heroin! Because it is still 18th Street, the menu includes suggested pairings for all its entrees, like braised lamb shank with Belgian white, a mascarpone mac & cheese-accompanied 8oz filet with a Malbec, or a Heavy Seas Marzen to go with a meatloaf smothered in mushroom gravy, which a jonesing Matt Lauer just can't wait to try. For lunch, they've got a lump crab cake with lime remoulade, and a prime rib steak sandwich with melted cheddar & caramelized onion, plus bar eats like garlic fried chicken wings, and an artisan cheese plate with fig jam, which'll take them like 21min to make, but is so totally better than the four minute radio fig.
Lest you have to post-game at Dan's Cafe, they're serving 25 wines, 15 bottled beers, and three draft lines pouring Sam Summer, Flying Dog's SnakeDog IPA, and Ommegang's Witte, something you need to be careful of flaunting, lest you leave Spaghetti Garden with a doggy bagged.
