Not all beloved childrens' toys would be fun to drink inside: sitting on those Lego bumps would be super uncomfortable, and chilling in a K'Nex set would mean you were hanging out with that poor kid again. Assuming Lincoln Logs would be: The Lincoln Room.
Just opened by the dudes behind Confidential and La Puerta, The Linc's a bi-level resto-lodge re-imagining of the former, lined with timber trunks that feel like the inside of a Lincoln Log cabin, studded ox-blood booths & chairs, two Abe-appropriate bars (encased w/ pennies), and a brick-backed "Presidential Suite" designed to showcase "an American version of La Puerta" -- so what, it's got tons of knobs? Paying homage to Confidential, they're rocking old faves like ahi tuna tartare and Gorgonzola-stuffed/ bacon-wrapped dates, but're also rolling out new share-ables like the crispy bacon/melted mozzarella/ pesto mayo "Fried Green Tomato Stack", and the chipotle-sauced/Gorgonzola-dressed, slow-roasted "Lincoln Wings" -- if you thought tours of the Lincoln Bedroom were boring, just imagine how long these'll take! For heartier appetites, they've got an Indian spiced lamb burger with feta & tsatsiki, and the "Classic Grilled Cheese" (w/ applewood smoked bacon/ sliced tomato/ fontina horseradish sour-cream), while siding comes via fries (truffled or in garlic), Southern-fried okra, and "Molasses Whipped Sweet Potatoes", which ought to be humiliating for the latter given how slow the former is.
Further belly-warming will come via five local brews on tap, "boutique" wines by the glass, a full liquor bar, and a specialty 'tail program "that marries ingenuity and approachability", unlike that kid with the K'Nex set, who just marries someone who doesn't mind sleeping outdoors.
