Employing a special technique discovered by accident while attempting to engineer lighter frames, the team at 1127 created custom bikes rocking frames covered in a mesmerizing scheme of cut-outs, as if the entire thing had been pelted by jigsaw puzzle-shaped bullets.
If you're concerned that their unconventional methods make the whip weaker than its solid counterparts, don't be. The tubes used in the frame are much thicker than average, and after testing them on the roads, 1127 discovered they're at least 1.5 times stiffer than competition carbon race frames.
For now they're only offering a single limited edition model—the Erembald—as a full bike, frameset, or frame only, but soon will be rolling out a couple others, so stay tuned.
