DJ Plastic Plates, aka Felix Bloxsom, may be the hardest-working musical extraordinaire in the biz. Not only is he a spinner of synth-heavy disco and house (hence the vinyl-inspired alias), but he has also remixed and produced artists from Sia to The Human League, and is a songwriter and musician in his own right. If you can name the instrument, this Sydney-born 2004 “Young Australian Jazz Musician of the Year” can probably fill a dance floor with it.
We caught up with Felix during a rare break in his touring schedule to find out which staples a Hype Machine-ranked, globe-trotting DJ (plus all of the above), can’t live without. Insert puns about many musical hats here.
