J.D. Salinger x New Balance = The Catcher In The Rye Kicks

Waiting in line for anything, aside from a Frosty from Wendy's, is stupid. Waiting in line for shoes? That's extra stupid. But hey, rules were meant to be broken. That's the case with these new New Balance Catcher In The Rye 997s. We would wait in line for these.

The modified version of New Balance's most classic silhouette is a part of the brand's ongoing Authors Collection, celebrating the iconic work of American literature by incorporating swaths and stitches of color based on the novel's original cover. Plus, the insoles are printed with the NYC cityscape. We've got to believe Holden Caulfield would think they're pretty swell.
