Now You Can Trigger Traffic Lights On Your Bike

Unless you live in a city that has timed traffic lights, it's easy to get stuck forever on your bike at a red with no cars coming. Why? Because bikes don't weigh enough to trip that sensor. Helping us overcome this problem is VeloLoop, a small device that gets your bike the recognition it deserves, giving you that sweet, sweet green.

Using a very low amount of power (a few AAA batteries will last you a year), VeloLoop emits a small magnetic field that will trip the sensor. That's right—it doesn't even matter that your bike doesn't weigh a ton. There's also an LED light on the top that let's you know when the device is searching for a sensor, and when it's been locked in and tripped. It's worked well in beta testing so far, and we can't wait to see it more in action—and for the next generation, which we expect will be smaller.
