Golden Gals Gone Wild

The Golden Girls made you laugh and they made you cry, but their loose pants suits never made yours tight, except every scene that had Blanche in it. Taking them all to Blanche-level, Golden Gals Gone Wild

GGGW's a collection of paintings by various artists depicting the Golden Girls we all know and love done up sexy enough to make you feel weird; the exhibit got its inspiration when the curator bought a Bea Arthur nude off eBay, hung it over her bed, and saw it shock her special friends to the point where she had to say, "You have to be down with Bea to get down with me", which is like, Coolio or something. The first collection (launched in LA) sold out, so new works were commissioned for the Miami exhibit, including a grinning Betty White in dominatrix regalia; a formal-looking Bea in a slinky boa flashing bedroom eyes; and a set of portraits, one showing Rue McClanahan with a hot bod in a boudoir-ish setting, and another with Estelle Getty outside a '60s diner, presumably buying a gun with which she will shoot you, if you don't stop. Some stuff's more pop culture-inspired, including a comic strip where you can tell the girls are topless that cuts to close-ups of their lips almost kissing, and a series that portrays the ladies as little Star Wars dolls: Betty's a cheery stormtrooper with bright red lips and Bea's Vader, but you already knew that, from when Luke pulled the mask off in Jedi

Rounding out the exhibit's a painting of all the gals dressed in ill-fitting super hero costumes like Catwoman, Wonder Woman, Superwoman, and Robin -- the Boy Wonder who always made you say "Boy, I wonder why his pants are so tight."
