Julep

(n.) A drink consisting of spirits, sugar and mint served over crushed ice. Invented in the 18th century, Juleps hail from the South, but plenty of Yankees have been known to sip a Mint Julep to celebrate the Kentucky Derby. (As if Mint Juleps weren't cause enough for celebration.)
