Maritime gear tends to be split between two very different camps: rugged weatherproof fare that can stand up to the high seas, and casual preppy offerings worn by someone who's just getting high, see? Bringing both under one roof, Atlantis by Peter Elliot.
Filled with inflatable tubes, oars, British naval rum paraphernalia, and, for your purchasing pleasure, a mix of performance apparel and sailing-inspired land fashion, AbPE's a co-venture between independent Manhattan-based retailer Peter Elliot, and the former Hamptons aqua brand Atlantis, which befittingly completely sank before being salvaged by a group of MA sailors. The latter brand's ocean-ready steez includes quick-dry crew shirts made of breathable smart fabric intended to adjust to your body temperature; an authentic waterproof/insulating racing pull-over designed for competitive sailing called the Numbers Softshell; and a grip of lightweight, microfleece-lined, water & windproof vests/jackets/pants (avail in deep blue or bright yellow) collectively called Microbursts, also the term given to Emmanuel Lewis' on-set mood swings. Elliot's landlubbing fare, meanwhile, runs from lightweight linen button-downs and polos, to denim-or-khaki pants embroidered w/ tennis rackets, to white/navy blazers and signature cashmere sweaters made entirely of hair from a goats neck, though ironically it is knot suitable for good mosh pitting.
You can also nab traction-havin' rubber boat/dock kicks from Native Shoes, water-resistant watches by TKO, and shatter-proof shades from Kaenon, good to have around whether the seas are glassy, or just your eyes.
