Hamptons Chic

Visitors to the Hamptons feast on the local bounty, quaff the local wine, and hit on the local sun-damaged divorcees to the dulcet tunes of the local reggae cover band, all while wearing clothes made in...Indonesia? Get your wardrobe in step, with The Black Buoy Presents: Max & Susanne, opening this Sunday.

TBBP: M&S is a summer-long, hard to spot/easy to reach pop-up store behind Sag Harbor; it's run by Hamptons natives Max, an ex-LOLA NY designer, and Suzanne, an ex-runway model, and serves as a brick & mortar for their online store The Black Buoy, which sells MAXANDSUZANNE and LOLA, both brands as native to the Hamptons as the people in your summer house are not. Minimally decorated with bright blue floors and a vintage Fisher radio, MAXANDSUZANNE stock includes stylishly subdued, 100% Egyptian cotton button downs and shockingly soft, Peruvian Cotton/Viscose tees with designs like a faded image of a girl with several curiously strong mints on her tongue; LOLA offerings range from the Whitman-portrait "City of Orgies" to "2 Die 4", sporting the profile of Nefertiti, who historians agree was a huge Prince fan. Other assorted knickknacks (all handpicked by either Max or Suzanne) are all for sale: classic 70s tennis shoes, vintage matchbooks, even Sean Connery short 1960s swim trunks -- just because Daniel Craig couldn't bring them back, doesn't mean you don't have a shot, with your superior physique.

TBBP: M&S plans to periodically refresh their stash (pants are on the way!), and host gallery shows for local artists and sculptors, a delightfully classy idea for a date with your divorcee Helen, right before your Sunday Exodus.
