Immediately throw out all your furniture except your heirloom futon and get to Found, a Wynwood shop run by an inherently crafty mother/daughter team, who dig up stuff everywhere from sidewalks to dumpsters, then thoughtfully remove the raging hornets' nests and expertly refurbish them into eye-poppingly unique home-wares. Some of their finer examples:
The Drunken Dame: This mod bar from the 1950s (with an upper display cabinet!) was heavily refurbished while being kept as original as possible, and was discovered at St. Vincent's hospital in Hialeah, so if you ever get transported back to 1950 and sustain a massive injury, request the one doctor who hasn’t been drinking heavily.
Mysteries in the Middle Table: Picked up at an estate sale in Coral Gables, the ladies awesomed-up its drawer (which you can see through the top glass) by putting in real Spanish moss and dotting it with plastic dinosaurs they painted gold, marking the first time dinosaurs became more awesome since they flanked Muldoon without him knowing. Clever girls!
Busty Chest: This beauty’s blessedly covered in other beauties baring its namesake, mainly thanks to glued-on cutouts from vintage Vogues and '70s Playboys, so have fun looking at Warren Beatty's rack.
You can even bring in finds of your own and have the Found gals give them all sorts of sweet new life, and they also plan to host events in a massive outdoor area with a food truck or two, enough enjoyment of which will have you breakin...noooo, don't sit on the futon! It's Baroque!!
