Wake up without wishing horrific violence to your alarm clock

If you'd like to wake up to something slightly less jarring than your stepmom slapping you in the face with a damp No Fear tee, then you'll want to help fund the iDreamSaver, an iPhone charging dock/alarm clock from two SD engineers currently in Kickstarter that "monitors your sleep state and wakes you only from light sleep", thus keeping Leonardo DiCaprio's plan to unlock the secrets behind your family's vast energy conglomerate during REM safely intact.

How it Works, Nutshell Version: Since moving around while you sleep indicates you're slumbering lightly, iDS is designed to wake you when you start tossing and turning, though only during a time period you specify, which they call a "wake window", though allegedly NOT because it's a great time to view your body.

How it Works, Nerdy Science Version: iDS uses a "Passive InfraRed" sensor to monitor your body motion, which sees heat and is tuned specifically to the temp of the human body, so it can stare creepily at you in the dark. It also comes with a powerful Fresnel lens and visible light filter, which means it can detect body movement even across the room while, at the same time, improving the PIR's performance by filtering out light to create a max contrast between you and the background, so now might be the time to get rid of your urban camo sheets/nightgown/cap.

What You Can Do Now: Though they expect to ship worldwide in May, contributing to the Kickstarter will net you various things: $79 gets you an iDreamSaver in black or white, $149 gets you a sick aluminum one with a bead-blasted finish, while $189 gets you a Kickstarter-only edition made from lime green aerospace-grade aluminum laser-etched with an individual serial number, so everyone knows you were down with this thing from the Inception.
