Celebrate Every Moon Landing With This Poster
Yes, the official 45th anniversary of Apollo 11 was yesterday, but that doesn't make this new poster series from City Prints—which plots the specific location of every lunar landing to date—any less relevant.
Adding some further perspective to the pock-marked rock in the sky beyond our Apollo 11-focusedcoveragefrom the last couple weeks, the image is printed on heavy stock with a slight metallic shimmer and marks the 15 points upon which spacecrafts have descended. From the NASA-led Apollo and Surveyor missions to the Soviets' Luna and Lunokhod voyages, the poster provides an up-close look at the variety of terrain that's been explored.
They've also created a handful of other artfully informative, space-themed prints, including some that showcase the path routes for Apollos 8, 11, and 13, and Freedom 7 (the US' first human spaceflight), plus colorful aerial maps of both the Kennedy Space Center at large, and its Launch Complex 39.
