The Eco-Friendly Keurig Of The Future

Even the inventor of the Keurig agrees it’s freaking terrible for the environment. But how do we get our instant gratification, single-serving coffee on demand without destroying the planet?

One designer from Singapore may have the answer. Introducing Droops Coffee Maker, a device that uses dissolving coffee pods to completely eliminate the toxic plastic takeover of Keurig and the like.

The pods take inspiration from hard candies, with an outer shell that can be customized to already include sugar, milk, etc. The unit itself is streamlined, almost Apple-looking in design, comprising a heater and a pump.

And while it’s still in concept phase, it could very well be the simplest solution to our selfish coffee ways.
