The Candle-Powered Heater Raises Temps, Lowers Costs

In a world of rising heating costs and waning fossil fuels, designers have had no choice but to innovate unexpected solutions to everyday problems. Introducing Egloo, a candle-powered heater, which can warm your room for just 10 cents a day.

Egloo is made of terracotta, which naturally stores heat and releases it over time.

A metal tray houses four small candles, which can heat a room for up to five hours before needing a refill.

Egloo shattered its crowd-funding goal on Indiegogo, raking in $105,380 of their $30,000 aim. And it's no surprise why—the design is simple and effective. Just place the candles inside, and you're good to go.

But try not to burn the house down, okay? That could get expensive.
