A table lamp made from trashed skateboards

A woodworking feat so impressive you would never have guessed it was birthed from a dumpster in Tijuana, the Skatelamp is a 1.5-foot tall table lamp fashioned from the salvaged industrial waste of a Mexican skateboard factory.

Once the raw and veneered maple skatedeck scraps are sorted and sliced into uniform strips, they're sanded, steamed and bent into the unique "C" shape, and fitted with a cord from which the small frosted globe is illuminated.
