America is no stranger to astronomical real estate prices. Just skim the The New York Times classifieds in the country's hottest zip codes if you want confirmation of this. But for every sexy, multi-million dollar Manhattan or Malibu property, a slew of eight-figure homes in places like Tennessee and Montana are also on the market.
To prove that all 50 of our beautiful states have some epic real estate, here's the alphabetical list of the most expensive homes currently for sale*, as of this publication date, in each. (Don't freak out, D.C., you're on the list.) Also: damn, Oregon, looking good.
(*All facts, figures, etc., from Zillow. Update and clarification: this list is of houses, in the traditional sense one thinks of a "house." Like with a lawn. And a driveway. In NYC, and in Chicago, there are a few apartments that are pricier than the houses listed, but we left 'em off the list.)
