There's no better fight than Young Gun vs. Legend -- if the Young Gun wins, you witness the passing of the torch, and if the Legend wins, you're reassured that a guy in his 30s can accomplish something more impressive than giving up smoking. For the ultimate match-up of veteran and up-and-comer, check out Frank Shamrock vs. Nick Diaz, airing live on SHOWTIME, Saturday, April 11th at 10PM ET/PT. The main event of Strikeforce's first MMA melee of the year, this bout'll see three-time world champion Shamrock return to the ring against fellow knockout artist/freaky-scary bad-ass Diaz, who's hoping to avenge a devastating 21-second knockout that his trainer, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master, Cesar Gracie, suffered at the apparently still-quick hands of Shamrock in March 2006. Some snippets of their classily aggro pre-fight smack-talk: Shamrock: "I'd be pretty pissed off if someone smashed my coach...but a fight's a fight. Someone's getting smashed and it's just not going to be me." Diaz: "Frank and I have always lived in a 100 mile radius of each other. When I got into this (sport), the people around here were all about Frank Shamrock, so I turned around and walked the other way." Except now of course he's not walking away, he's walking right into a raging torrent of Sham-fists. And there's more: the telecast will also feature other live fights including middleweight sluggers Scott Smith and Benji Radach -- because if anything touches the glory of Young Gun vs. Legend, it's "Man with alliterative name" vs. "Man named after a beloved movie dog.
