With summer, comes questions: Where should I take my vacation? Should I break up with my girlfriend? Should I start a relationship with tank-tops? Settle "What wine should I drink?" right now, and hit up Riesling Week, May 18-24.
Birthed from feisty, greenish-yellow grapes that flourish in Germany, Alsace, and Austria's chillier growing regions, Riesling can mean sweeter wines, which many people are familiar with, but they also produce a wealth of dry, peach- and apple-tinged wines, which many don't know jack about, but damn well should. Riesling Week will showcase the wine's prowess as a light, refreshing summer quaffable, with special Riesling menus at a host of vaunted restos: Aureole, Lotus of Siam, Rosemary's, Japonais, MICHAEL MINA Bellagio, Top of the World Restaurant at the Stratosphere, Vintner Grill, and Pinot Brasserie -- clearly, Pinot's turf-guarding protestations of "Not in my brasserie!" were ignored.
To navigate Riesling Week, check out this map of participating locations -- because one question you don't want to ask yourself this summer is, "where the hell am I?".
