Eccentric Shirts

Pyjamas designs can be so joyfully whimsical, it's a shame that, like furtive masturbation, crying, and declaring yourself the newest member of "The Famous Six", the wearing of them is generally confined to the bedroom. Boldly bringing that whimsy onto the street: Eccentric Shirts.Eccentric's the work of a man who for two decades has been supplying nightwear to most of Jermyn Street, often under Royal Appointment (knightwear?); recently, he decided that those same stylings could add fashionable silliness to the world of buttondowns via eight sub-lines of 100% Italian & Lawn cotton poplin shirts. The wackiest line's dubbed Extreme, and includes the likes of the dark-blue 'Becky' (bespeckled with assorted VW camper vans), the cream 'Shruti' (dozens of 1960s surfers, lying on their boards in unfortunate 1960s swim trunks), and the turquoise 'Topsy', dotted in antique bottle caps such as 'Kola Champagne', 'Sarsaparilla', and hopefully the only 'Ruby Extra Quality Grape Juice' this shirt will ever encounter. Further idiosyncratic looks run from the Abstract line's 'Suki', covered with "Purple Samphire!" (an edible, actually green seaweed); to Stripes' fat blue-lined 'Sophie'; to Symmetrical's 'Sinead' -- as you rock hundreds of light green dots and subtle white leaves, nothing will compare 2 U. For a more subtle, job-retaining look, there are also 'Shirts for Work' with hidden patterns inside the collar/cuffs, such as the pale yellow 'Millie' concealing floral patterns within, and the solid blue 'Georgie', with a red-checkered pattern underneath, some ginger pop and, if you're very lucky, a scamp of a dog named Timmy who'll accompany you on your every adventure! Sigh.
