It's exciting when things from childhood get updated to be more relevant, like Tron 3D, and whomever your father is currently trying to make you refer to as "mom". Updating a childhood classic via brain-eaters, Organ Trail. Just launched, Organ Trail's a modernized version of the elementary-school classic Oregon Trail, but with a major non-educational twist: instead of crossing west to find gold, you and your crew are doing it to escape an increasingly expanding horde of zombies, but not an increasingly expanding Horde tour featuring (Rob) Zombie, because then the Spin Doctors fans would have all left hours ago. To start your work-procrastination, first choose your archetypical survivor (cop from Kentucky/ clerk from Jersey City/ lawyer from Miami), name your travelmates something hilarious, and choose how many hours you'll plan to scavenge for gas, food, money, ammunition, medical supplies, & spare parts -- though don't spend too much time on those, as most of them have probably already have been filled by Clint Howard. Once you get packed up, your crew will zoom out of dot-matrix DC in a station wagon, while you think about options (up the pace to grueling, get out and shoot zombies while looking for food) and various challenges that present themselves en route, ranging from dealing with actual zombie attacks (do you hire mercenaries to help, go in guns blazing, or try and sneak past undetected) to holdups because of storms and abandoned vehicles, to health problems like the OT classic dysentery, the "t-virus", and even "zombie bites" -- alright, you already made your point, Spin Doctor fans! Once you've successfully completed the mission, the website's got a leaderboard of peeps who've finished the game -- do well, and you're sure to impress Cheryl. Whoops, sorry dad, "mom".
