Throwing some spice in things can be great, like when adding Tabasco to your bloody mary, or horrible, like when adding Posh to your plans to marry. Spicing up an island vacation the good way, St. Kitts' Escape Package.
Sitting on the breezy Atlantic side of St. Kitts (a hilly tropical isle with craggy shorelines on the eastern edge of the Caribbean) this high-end resort offers luxe and relaxed environs, and just added a group of more adventurous stuff they're terming an "escape package" -- the standard refrain after accidentally walking through that special section of Haulover Beach. The deal gives you three uniquely outdoorsy options: 1) hitting up to 50mph on four different zip lines above the steep jungle canopy 2) visiting UNESCO world heritage site Brimstone Hill Fortress (built from volcanic stone) sitting on steep bluffs 800ft above the sea with views of nearby islands, and 3) hiking through the rainforest to summit 3,800ft dormant volcano Mount Liamuiga, where you can lunch on the rim and check out green vervet monkeys, whistling frogs, and brown mongoose, which's got nothing on your blue Diamondback, even if the wily creature does have pegs. There's also other active stuff like ATV-ing, kayaking, diving, and snorkeling, plus more classic vacation diversions like dining at Blu Seafood (which juts out into the ocean for 180 degree views) and ball-whacking on the 18-hole, rocky-shoreline-abutting Royal St. Kitts Golf Club designed by Thomas McBroom, who's shaming his family by not sweeping up errant McNuggets.
There's also the Royal Beach Casino -- the Caribbean's largest -- with limits ranging from $10 to $5,000 on table games like blackjack, roulette, Caribbean stud poker, craps, and Let It Ride, which was probably the idea behind marrying Posh, but who knows if that ice queen even lets you poker.
