Once you master a signature move, it's nearly impossible to overuse it, like Michael Crichton starting every chapter with the date/time, or that NASCAR guy who does backflips. Here with a signature move for your mouth, George's BBQ
Run by Greeks deep in the Mission, George's is a blessedly inexpensive casual joint curiously done up with tropical island murals (surfboards, a shipwrecked Black Pearl...roosters), a motif seemingly unrelated to its overarching concept, rotisserie cook everything. Among the spit-spinners are seasoned whole chickens (and half/quarter birds), spare ribs, and turkey legs, plus meat hunks served alone or in hot sandos, including: pastrami, roast beef, polish sausages, and hotlinks (they're even rotisserie cooking the internet!!!). Sides range from sour cream-caked baked potatoes (also spit-fired), to macaroni/potato/beet salads; there're also desserts (cheesecake, chocolate mousse, apple pie), some Chardonnay & Merlot, and a modest selection of bottled beers (Miller, Modelo, etc) -- good but not fancy, which is perfect, since you're eating a cuisine style called Nouveau Caveman
While everything's available eat-in and take-out, George's will also offer a catering service for all its rotisserie magic -- when your meat party's over, you'll be lucky if you can muster up a somersault.
