7-Eleven Will Now Deliver 40s and Slurpees to Your Door

Any fears of having to go outside in the future can be squashed. 7-Eleven recently launched a delivery app where you can order beer, wine, Slurpees, pizza and any other convenience-store staple you might ever need.

The app is called 7-ElevenNOW, and it’s available for both iPhone and Android. Need beer but don’t want to go outside? Go to the app. Attempting to make a batch of Long Island Iced Tea Slurpees? Hit up the app. Need a 2,000-plus calorie pizza to save you on a Sunday morning? You get the gist.

On the app, you can browse the store and find products from the closest 7-Eleven. Exactly what’s available varies place to place, and the “products are picked with your community in mind,” according to the opening screen. For alcohol deliveries, the app has to verify your age with a photo of your ID. Then it’s just a short wait until a courier service brings the goods. Pickups are just as simple, with all the actual purchasing done over the app and your order sitting by the register for you when you get there.

“The app will enable our customers to get the products they want, when and where they want them, quickly and conveniently,” Gurmeet Singh, 7-Eleven’s chief digital officer, said in a statement. “This is redefining convenience.”

There’s no minimum order, and the delivery fee is $4.50. When testing the app out, a $1.69 Slurpee came out to just over $6 after taxes and fees—a small price to pay for those who don’t have a slushie machine in the closet. The only downside is the estimated wait time of 87 minutes at the time of the test order, which draws concerns about the state of the Slurpee upon arrival. But hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day.

7-ElevenNOW is currently being tested in select areas of Dallas, with additional delivery locations rolling out to some of 7-Eleven’s 10,900-plus North American stores in 2018.
