Attention New York drinkers coming off of a bad breakup: Put down your bottle of wine and the bourbon-flavored Ben & Jerry’s (which doesn’t have any actual booze in it)—there’s about to be a better option. Tipsy Scoop ice cream, which uses real alcohol in their desserts, is coming to New York in the form of a boozy bar (or barlour), just in time for summer.
The popular alcohol-infused ice cream brand—it’s one of our favorite boozy ice creams—will be opening a brick-and-mortar location at 217 East 26th Street, in the East Side neighborhood of Kips Bay in Manhattan. Opening day is May 7 and, in celebration, the shop will offer $1 scoops to the first 25 customers and free tank tops or tote bags to the first 50.
The ice cream barlour will offer 15 flavors along with boozy ice cream cakes and ice cream sandwiches. You can order by the scoop ($4.50 for a single and $6.50 for a double) or order an ice cream flight of four flavors—served in chocolate- and sprinkles-rimmed shot glasses—in case you have trouble deciding between Maple Bacon Bourbon, Tequila Mexican “Hot Chocolate” and Birthday Cake Martini.

"We’re just excited to be there with our own storefront—a true place to visit and try flavors. It's a pretty unique experience," partner Lyz Nardo told DNA Info. "When you see kids getting a giant ice cream there's a look of awe on their faces. Tipsy Scoop refreshes this idea. It's a new, grown-up twist on it. Adults have same sort of look when getting booze-filled ice cream."
The brand, which launched three years ago, was previously only available online and in retailers in the Northeast like Whole Foods. For those outside New York, you can still order Tipsy Scoop from the brand’s online store, or just spike your own ice cream at home for boozy floats, milkshakes and sundaes. But if you’re planning a summer trip to the Big Apple, you’re going to want to check this place out.
