LA Will Get Its Own Will Ferrell Themed Bar
Los Angeles, this is your official invitation to the pants party. Stay Classy, the New York bar based on actor Will Ferrell and his many epic films, is opening up a pop-up in L.A. next week. The temporary bar will appear at the TCL Chinese 6 Theater in Hollywood for just 10 days starting on December 5, but if it’s successful, the team may expand the concept into a permanent location elsewhere in the City of Angels.
The original New York location, which opened last year, is completely unaffiliated with the movie star, but we’d like to think the lack of any lawsuit thus far indicates Ferrell’s passive approval. The bar is decorated with memorabilia from Ferrell’s movies and serves a menu based on fan-favorite lines from a variety of Ferrell’s roles, like the Hansel’s So Hot Right Now, the Throne of Lies, and the Smelly Pirate Hooker.
The L.A. pop-up will offer a similar menu with a portion of the profits going to Ferrell’s charity, Cancer for College, which offers scholarships to cancer survivors heading to college. The pop-up will also be selling merchandise and hosting Elf- and Anchorman-themed parties in an effort to raise more money and awareness for the foundation. If you want in, text “classy” to 9290291-0337 for more details.
The cross-country move brings the bar one step closer to Ron Burgundy’s home of San Diego, or “whale’s vagina” in German. No matter where Stay Classy goes next, we can only assume they’ll serve Manhattans with the vermouth kicked to the side with a pair of steel-toed boots, a la Veronica Corningstone, and, of course, scotch. Say it with us now, “I love scotch. Scotchy scotch scotch.”
