Amazon Is Hosting Open Bars at Two New York Speakeasies

Putting the “ease” in speakeasy, Amazon is hosting open bars at two hidden New York bars as a promotion for Z: The Beginning of Everything, the site’s new show about Zelda Fitzgerald. For two nights only, The Back Room and Raines Law Room will swap out their usual vintage decor for slightly different vintage styling in order to match the show’s 1920s setting, all with gratis cocktails to match.

The Back Room, which actually acted as a legit speakeasy during Prohibition, is running its open bar from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the 25th and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m on the 26th, while Raines Law Room is handing out drinks from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m on the 26th only.

The totally free cocktail menu (below) includes thematic rebrandings of classic cocktails, like a Sidecar called the Zelda Fast Car, a Milk Punch called Zelda’s Memoirs and a French 75 called The Fan Dancer. Unfortunately, Zelda herself, played in the series by Christina Ricci, will not be in attendance, but the posh party atmosphere reminiscent of the Roaring ‘20s should satisfy any vintage fantasies you may harbor. If not, you can always don your best flapper gear at home, whip up a few Gatsby-worthy cocktails, and settle in to watch Z: The Beginning of Everything when it premieres on January 27.
