We all love a good shower beer or even a bathtime brew, but we’ve never thought about going for a dip in our beer, until now that is. Scottish brewery BrewDog is launching a new beer-themed hotel in Ohio, complete with a beer-filled Jacuzzi.
The crowdfunded craft beer hotel, aptly named the DogHouse, is slated to open in Columbus in September of 2018. It will be attached to BrewDog’s new sour beer brewery. Always ready with a gimmick (these are the same guys that brought us one of the world’s strongest beers bottled in a taxidermied squirrel), BrewDog plans to offer some clever sudsy amenities to guests: Guests in the luxury suite will have a private hot tub filled with the brewery’s hoppy Punk IPA. The appeal isn’t purely driven by people’s obsession with all things alcohol. Apparently, bathing in beer is good for your skin. The tradition of soaking in beer for medicinal purposes actually dates back to ancient times. But who are we kidding? We’re not in it for the silky smooth epidermis. We just want to live out a lifelong fantasy of Scrooge McDucking through a big pool of ale.
Don’t worry, those without deep pockets will still be able to enjoy beer while they bathe; every bathroom will include in-shower fridges stocked with beer. Other hotel amenities include a craft beer breakfast, a malted barley massage, a hop face mask and a “hoppy feet” pedicure. Plus, every room will have IPA on tap, so you can always fill up your tub with beer yourself.
