Brew lovers and globetrotters, rejoice: You can get paid to travel the world and drink beer all summer, thanks to World of Beer's “Drink It” internship program.
The national chain, which has over 70 locations that feature dozens of international and domestic beers on tap, is hiring three “Drink It” interns, who will get paid to visit beer events, festivals, breweries and World of Beer locations around the United States and abroad to taste beers, and share their adventures in real time on social media.
The internship lasts four months through the summer and pays a $12,000 stipend. Travel expenses are included, as is all the free beer you could ever want. Last year’s interns traveled to places like Oregon, Florida, England, Ireland and Belgium.
The company is seeking photographers, writers, social media gurus, foodies, adventurers and, of course, beer enthusiasts. Part of the application includes uploading a one minute video of yourself, explaining why you would be the perfect Drink It intern. They suggest you “keep it casual—review your favorite brew, tell us about a brewery trip or show us your hidden talent.”
Applications for the internship must be submitted by March 27 on the World of Beer website. Candidates who make it through the first round will be required to join for a second round of live interviews at various World of Beer locations in nine U.S. cities. The final interns will be selected in late April, and they will embark on their beer expedition a few weeks later. So start working on your six-pack (the kind you drink) and get your passport ready. It may not have a catchy name like Gintern, but this beer-soaked job is definitely a once in a lifetime hopportunity (see what we did there?).
