Ben & Jerry’s Is Officially Coming Out with Bourbon Ice Cream

You no longer have to choose between drowning your sorrows in a bottle of bourbon or a pint of Ben & Jerry’s. Because Ben & Jerry’s new bourbon-flavored ice cream will hit shelves this February—just in time for your post-Valentine’s Day breakup.

Rumors of the new flavor arose when Ben & Jerry’s registered the trademark for a flavor called Urban Bourbon and Instagrammer Candy Hunting teased the packaging art. Now, the ice cream company has confirmed a mid-February release date for the soul-soothing combination of burnt caramel ice cream with almonds, fudge flakes and bourbon caramel swirls.

This isn’t the first time Ben & Jerry’s have ventured into the world of whiskey. Bourbon Brown Butter (bourbon ice cream with dark chocolate whiskey cordial cups and a bourbon brown butter swirl) was released in Spring of 2016, and Bourbon Pecan Pie (bourbon ice cream, pecans, shortbread cookie pieces and a whiskey caramel swirl) was also released as a limited edition flavor in Texas.

Like B&J’s other bourbon-flavored creations, Urban Bourbon is just that—bourbon-flavored, containing no actual alcohol. So you might have to keep that bottle handy after all, for an Urban Bourbon ice cream float (spiked with actual bourbon), topped with a whiskey-infused chocolate syrup.
