Bill Murray Is Opening a Caddyshack Bar in Chicago

It’s a Cinderella story. Outta nowhere. A former greenskeeper, now, about to become the proprietor of a new Caddyshack-themed bar.

That’s right folks, it seems our favorite amateur bartender Bill Murray and his brothers are opening a Chicago bar based on one of his movies from the 1980s. Apparently it’s about golf or something. The king of the karaoke ambush and kin will open their Caddyshack-themed eatery in the Crowne Plaza Hotel near O’Hare International Airport in December, according to a press release.

The Chicago location follows the original Murray Bros. Caddyshack restaurant in St. Augustine, Florida, which serves pub fare including a Chicago dog. With the tagline, “Eat, Drink, and Be Murray,” the bars lean hard into their cinematic theme, with dishes like a Double Bogey Cheeseburger and CaddyShake, servers dressed in caddy uniforms and a charity golf tournament. Unfortunately, there’s no themed cocktail menu to pair with your wedge salad, but knowing Murray’s proclivity for pouring shots, we trust the bar program will be top notch. Plus, the press release indicates there will be plenty of TVs playing sports, putting Murray Bros. Caddyshack in the running for our new favorite sports bar.

While you await the December opening, you can work on your golf game. Just be sure to bring along proper accessories and don’t let those pesky gophers get the best of you.
