Get Paid to Drink Gin and Travel With ILoveGin’s New “Ginternship”

Monthly Gin & Tonic delivery service ILoveGin is offering one lucky British ginthusiast the job of a lifetime with their new “Ginternship.” The job’s duties include traveling to Europe’s craft gin distilleries, meeting with distillers, sampling new products (read: drinking gin) and generally living it up. While most gin lovers would happily do all of that for free, the six-month position is paid. Queue that golden ticket song from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

The Ginternship, unfortunately, cannot be earned by finding a golden ticket in a bottle of gin. According to the application page, ILoveGin will select an applicant—someone who is at least 18 years of age and a resident of the U.K.—based on his or her passion for gin, aptitude for hobnobbing with gin makers and social media presence.

For six months, the Gintern will work one to two days a week primarily from home but also while travelling to distilleries. Along with the salary (which could reach up to 20,000 pounds), the Gintern will receive monthly ILoveGin Gin & Tonic boxes, which contain the supplies needed to make signature Gin & Tonics.

ILoveGin is calling the position the “world’s best internship,” and we have to agree. It certainly beats fetching coffee and sweating over a hot copier.
