These 15% ABV Push-Pops Are What Your Summer Needs

Summer 2018 is officially the summer of boozy chill. A company called Buzz Pop Cocktails is selling 100-calorie adult push pops that are 15 percent alcohol, and they’re reminiscent of the Flintstones Push-Ups that made summers in the ‘90s so sweet.

The Buzz Pops are made with seasonal fruit, and are vegan, 100 calories and fat free. There are eight flavors in the lineup: Blueberry Mojo (tequila and pomegranate), Lemon Drop Martini, Southern Belle (sweet tea, peaches and bourbon), Pink Paradise (grapefruit, blood orange and tequila), Caribbean Breeze (pineapple, orange and rum), Mango Passion Fruit (mango and rum), Watermelon Patch (watermelon and vodka or rum) and Moscow Mule. The company’s website states that there are more than 75 different flavors that rotate depending on the season though, so there’s always something new to try.

The kicker for Buzz Pops is the 15 percent alcohol. That’s comparable to a liqueur like Baileys, and is nearly double the alcohol as this year’s other favorite frozen treat, the vodka-filled Slim Chillers popsicles. The texture is more sorbet than solid frozen bar, and as they melt it’s all caught in the container so you can take it like a shot after you’re done. It’s hard to beat summertime frozen drinks. With these you don’t have to travel far and wide to find a good bar with a slushie machine.

You can find Buzz Pops in Las Vegas, where the company is based, Florida, South Carolina, New York, Colorado and California. You can also buy eight packs online and have them shipped to your door.
