Camp Thrillist Is the Outdoor Drinking Retreat You Need This Summer

Just because you’ve gotten older doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy summer camp. Thrillist is hosting a version of the summer pastime for adults in August called Camp Thrillist, and it takes the best parts of your camp years and adds a bunch of delicious food and drinks.

This is the ultimate escape from the grind. Thrillist promises plenty of cold beer, mixology classes, themed meals (including an Epcot-style eat around the world dinner) and chef-led grilling courses to fill your day. Not to mention the zip lining, boating, archery, slip and slide kickball, kayaking, and hiking. And while it’s a camp with plenty of outdoor activities, it’s far from roughing it. Campers will stay two nights in cabins with air conditioning, private bathrooms and housekeeping. It’s like staying in a hotel that’s in the middle of a giant adult playground.

Camp Thrillist will be held at Club Getaway, a lakeside camp in western Connecticut, on August 17-19. It’s just a two hour drive from New York City and a three hour drive from Boston. There are also buses leaving from New York, making it almost too easy to get away for a weekend escape.

“You will probably be drinking the entire time,” Thrillist writes. “Again, we’re not messing around when it comes to eating and drinking all weekend.”

You can buy tickets for Camp Thrillist on the the event website. Until then, dream up your perfect schedule while checking out the long list of activities:
