Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, aka the Bae in Chief, is known for his pretty face and squeaky clean style. So it comes as no surprise to find out that he has some tricks for navigating the grittiest, dirtiest situations with panache, including the dreaded bar bathroom.
According to Deadspin, Trudeau recently revealed a golden nugget of bar wisdom during an interview on Canadian Jonah Keri’s podcast, which gave the PM a chance to speak directly to his people about issues that truly matter. In closing, Keri asked Trudeau if he could offer one tip to listeners, adding, “So I throw it out to you, it’s one thing that is just, if I met you in a bar you’d say, ‘Oh yeah, this is what I’m about.’”
Trudeau, picking up on the bar theme, responded, “In a bar? Flush the urinal with your elbow.” The koan may not be the best example of his political acumen, but it does show he’s got some street smarts, at least as far as spotless Canadian streets go. Trudeau went on to add a few more traditional pieces of advice, but we’re probably going to remember the elbow trick more than anything else to come out of Canadian politics.
